How long does it take to get a dental implant?
Dr. Dastrup likes to compare an implant to a fence post that is placed in wet concrete. For the post to be stable once the concrete dries, you want to keep it still and not continue to wiggle it around. An implant is placed in your jaw and new bone cells need to adhere to that implant to make it stable for years to come. For this reason, we usually wait 2-3 months to connect the actual tooth to the implant. Talk to Dr. Dastrup for great options if the missing tooth is visible when you smile because we certainly want you to keep smiling.
